Puppy abandoned in park, hit by train on same day

Growing up is difficult, especially if you don't have a caring parent or guardian to guide you. Unfortunately, many individuals do not completely understand — or live up to — their responsibilities to assist helpless newborns of all species in finding their way in this world, according to blog.theanimalrescuesite.greatergood.

Due to no fault of their own, two poor Ohio puppies ended up in the care of one such reckless caretaker. When their owner decided he couldn't take care of them any longer, he dropped the young brothers in a nearby park to fend for themselves. They were just three months old at the time.

One of the puppies got loose and was subsequently discovered in another county. The second brother, on the other hand, was not so fortunate. This poor puppy strayed onto the railway lines and was hit by an oncoming train because he didn't realize the dangers of being outside. The accident occurred on the same day that the puppy was left alone to fend for himself for no apparent reason.

The young puppy miraculously survived, which is a testimonial to his fortitude, strength, and the rapid actions of first responders. The poor creature, on the other hand, did not escape the experience unhurt. Despite surviving emergency surgery, the puppy – named Trooper by the Sheriff's Department since he's already been through so much - had lost his eye, his tail, and both hind legs.

"Trooper may not have been hurt today if the juvenile had just taken the dogs to the shelter," Sheriff Richard Jones said of the puppy's former teenage owner, who was charged with animal cruelty and abandonment. "I am confident Trooper will find a wonderful permanent home, but his poor quality of life might have been avoided if this person had made a different choice."

Trooper is presently residing with a new foster home, who notes that this energetic little dog is recovering well and is getting set to learn to operate a wheel-cart after his sutures are removed next week. Meanwhile, Trooper's forever family is being sought by the Animal Friend's Humane Society in Hamilton, Ohio. If you believe this applies to you, contact them using their website or Facebook page. Let's find this sweet boy the home he deserves for the rest of his life!
