Poor dog severely emaciated, she has gone a long time without food and in dire need of help
We were made aware of a dog severely emaciated and in dire need of help in the Rio Grande. She was put in a shed for the last few days with a little food and they felt she was cured. We paid a transporter gas money to pick her up and rush her to the ER vet in Corpus Christie, TX.
We have named her Trinity! Trinity has a body score under 1, very anemic and has no weight baring on her back right leg, plus she has an old break on her front leg that was not healed right.
The vet said she has gone a long time without food. She of course is very dehydrated and with the anemia from the bad infestion of fleas, they recommended a blood transfusion. She will have to slowly be reintroduced food and very small amounts and possibly special food. Her long road to recovery is just beginning, we need all the support to help Trinity have the best life possible. The vet staff has let me know she is very willed to lived and is super sweet....Watch the video below:
