After the City of Waller Animal Shelter and Rescue in Texas, USA, posted photographs of a charming Chihuahua-cross on Facebook, the pup named Cheech quickly became an internet sensation thanks to his endearing smile.
Leah Sipe, the shelter's director, shared that Cheech's smile initially scared some of the volunteers, mistaking it for snarling. However, it quickly became clear that Cheech was an "awesome little guy" with a heart of gold.
Cheech's irresistible smile led to numerous offers for rehoming, and he ultimately found his forever home with a woman named Carrie and her little dog Dusty. Carrie was in search of a new friend for Dusty, who was grieving the loss of his German Shepherd companion and refusing to eat.
The shelter announced Cheech's happy news on their Facebook page, saying, "Congratulations on finding your forever home, Cheech! We are thrilled that you have found the perfect home. Cheech needs this family as much as they need him."
