Meet the poster child for hard, expensive and inconvenient, Hooch We found Hooch near the border of Mexico where injured dogs are drug from the side of the road to a dumpster and left to die. Hooch’s rear end was crushed by a force so strong it broke both of his rear legs. He looked like a pretzel when he was found. Terrified, hungry and in incomprehensible pain, he hid in the bushes for days until he was transported across the state. He showed his gratitude with a bout of bloody diarrhea caused by stress and an infestation of hookworms. This boy has been “walking” with a snapped femur and his other leg broken at the joint.

Day 10: Hooch has come so far.  wandering the woods, alone , homeless , with 2 fractured legs , dragging himself to survive. On top of all his medical issues , he was severely petrified of humans and human touch. We lucked out and found an amazing foster, who has worked diligently to bring him around and for him to be able to trust again. He’s come a long way and he still continues to heal from surgery.

Day 20: I can’t believe that this is the same pup that no one could touch 3 weeks ago. He is building confidence and trust. From growls to kisses in such a short time. I’m so glad that Rescue Dogs Rock NYC gave him a chance, when not many would have. He’s so young and we will never know what he’s been through. But it’s all good things from here baby boy!

Day 24: He continues to make progress everyday, both physically and mentally. When we rescued him , you could not touch him he was so frightened, and now he has come around to accepting love and finally understands he’s safe.

Day 30: Hooch continues to make progress overcoming his fears. His amazing foster finally coaxed him out of his living area with treats. Baby steps!

Day 38: He’s doing so great both mentally and physically. He’s come such a long way.

Day 45: Hooch has many fears and he’s conquering them one at a time,  Today was getting him out of the house to the backyard. It wasn’t easy but his amazing foster Mom worked hard to convince Hooch, he would be very happy if he pushed over his fears and here is the result.

Day 47: Good Afternoon from Hooch! Outside and enjoying the fresh air.

Day 60: Go Hooch  Look how amazing he’s doing! He’s really owning his freedom now ! ! Learning that life can be really good!

Hooch learning about toys! Amazing what patience and love can do. Thanks all for your alway support!
