5 Basic Commands All Dogs Should Know

Every well-trained dog should know at least five basic but important dog obedience commands:

Sit down, sit down, come, follow and stay. You need to teach your pet these orders in 3 to 5 lessons per day, each time lasting 10 to 15 minutes. If you want to keep your dog's interest, short and frequent training is preferable to long and boring training.

The following is a brief overview of the basic dog training commands. Once you have performed the expected behavior, you can choose to verbally praise or use it.

1- Sitting command

The sitting position is a fixed position, so all four paws are on the ground. To train the seating command, hold a bite-sized dog snack and move it from the dog's nose to the head. Praise your pet or click immediately after touching the ground at the back of the dog. If you are using snoring, treat it immediately.

2- Give an order

The descent command is another rest position that lies on the ground. To train the descent command, ask your dog to sit down and then treat it near the dog's nose. Just like drawing an imaginary letter "L", move the snack down from the nose to the dog's front paw. Pull the snack out, then click or praise the dog's elbows when they touch the ground and the dog lies down. Once it falls, provide treatment immediately.

3- Stop command

The hold command is a fixed position and it will remain frozen until it is released. To train the stop command, have your dog sit or lie down. For a few seconds, then click or praise to reward the dog for holding the position and provide treatment as soon as the dog is still in position. Then, use the release command to release the dog from that location.

4- Command

To train the Come command, take a few feet away from your dog. Then, when you walk backward quickly, please shout out your dog's name and signal "come." Once the dog starts clicking or complimenting your way. The dog immediately catches up with you, please give treatment.

5- Heel command

The heel command is where your pet's shoulder is in line with your left knee, next to it is a pet. To train the heel command, your pet must be in traction. First, take a step with your left leg and then walk while encouraging the dog to follow. Once it is right next to you, align the dog's shoulder with your left knee, praise or click on the dog, and then treat.

In short, this is the five most basic and important dog obedience commands. It's a good idea to continue to repeat these steps because the dog will only repeat these commands. Once the dog has learned all the commands, it will not only benefit you but also benefit your dog.
